Maca bliss balls
I love making bliss balls and I am always experimenting with new ingredients and flavor combinations, the amazing thing is that you can pretty much add whatever you have available, I have added so many different kinds of seeds, nuts, super foods, dried fruit etc. and I have yet to make a batch that did not turn out tasty. For these I used sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and oats for their high protein content and maca to add a bit of an extra energy boost. I love snacking on these throughout the day and even though they are all healthy it feels like a treat whenever I have one, so good! Oh and how cute is the pink color? Haha I have to make all my snacks pink from now on!
Ingredients:
1 cup dates
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup oats
1/4 cup raw cacao
1-2 tablespoons acacia honey
2-4 teaspoons maca powder, depending on how used you are to macs (I use this one – affiliate link)
Directions:
- Add all the ingredients to a food processor and pulse until everything is well mixed.
- Scoop out the “dough” with a tablespoon and use your hands to roll the mixture into small balls.
- To make the pink coating I used a foodprocessor to turn raw coconut chips and freeze-dried raspberry, strawberry and blackberry into flour to roll the bliss balls in for a nice pink color and a lovely berry flavor.
- Enjoy!
