Morning babes! Are you ready for another little DIY project? I have already shared a bunch of different homemade beauty products and lip scrubs here on the blog, but I thought I would make an extra festive edition that would work perfectly as a cute little homemade Christmas gift ♥

This peppermint lip scrub is so sweet and festive with its candy striped layers and yummy scent + it is the perfect remedy for dry and chapped lips in this cold winter weather. The best part is that it is super easy and very budget friendly to make and many of you probably already have the ingredients in your cupboards!

You can find more of my recipes for homemade beauty products right here! ♥

White layer:
3 tablespoons sugar
1.5 tablespoon coconut oil
1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract*

Red Layer:
3 tablespoons sugar
1.5 tablespoon coconut oil
1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
A couple drops of red food color

*Not to be confused with peppermint essential oils. If you use peppermint essential oil instead, then you should only use a drop or two as it is very strong.

Directions:
Simply add alle the ingredients to two bowls and mix well (add the peppermint a little at a time, it varies quite a bit in strength depending on the brand used), layer the scrub in a small airtight jar and it is done – easy easy right? The lip scrub should keep 2-3 weeks in an airtight jar. To make sure it stays somewhat bacteria free I prefer to use a little wooden spatula instead of my fingers to get the product out of the jar. Apply the scrub to your lips and gently exfoliate for 30 seconds to a minute, then wash it off and add a good lip balm. Enjoy ♥
