Baking for my family – croissants and cinnamon bread with apple and dates

As you guys know, I have never been that fond of baking and neither have my parents, but we have always enjoyed spending quality time together with good food and the occasional baked goods. When it came to the baked goods we would often resort to the easier solutions (especially when we were little) that saved time and dishes. One of our favorites were these Danerolles cans with fresh dough, they ensured we got the perfect croissants every time and with minimal dishes and time spent in the kitchen – it really does not get much easier than that! ♥

The concept is really simple, you buy fresh ready made dough in the cans pictures below. When you remove the outer packaging they kinda pop open and you can take out the fresh dough that have already been cut into the right shape and size to make the desired products. You can either bake them just as they are and for example make croissants, but you can also use the dough to get creative and make other kinds of pastries (I like to make cinnabuns) or baked goods – find lots of inspiration right here!

I usually bake the croissants as they are, but stuffed with a little bit of chocolate – so easy, so delicious! This time I also got a bit more creative though and played around with the Petits Pains, I am so impressed with how it turned out! Yesterday my mother came to visit, so I wanted to make something special for us to enjoy. I found the inspiration for this beyond delicious cinnamon bread right here and then I adapted the recipe to my liking. It looks all fancy and difficult to make, but it took me no time to put together and it was SO good! You can find the recipe below, it is definitely not the last time I make that ♥

You can find the products in Føtex, Bilka, DagliBrugsen, Fakta, Netto, Kvickly, Menu, Min Købmand, Spar and SuperBrugsen – they are located in the coolers.

Fresh croissants in just 15 minutes!

I have a lot of memories connected to these, not just from baking them with my parents, but especially with my little sister when we were younger and still lived at home. I mean we have baked these more times than I can count and always stuffed with all kinds of goodies. One of my parents’ clients worked for the company, so he would always brings us a ton of the cans whenever they had meetings and my sister and I gladly stole the majority of them  ;)

I still love to make them as an extra treat when I have guests over for brunch, they only take 15 minutes to make from start to finish and they are just SO delicious! They really add a little something extra to the brunch table without much effort! We usually add a bit of nutella or chocolate when rolling them – I mean, you can never have too much chocolate right?!

Today I baked a big batch for my little sister and I and it was just like old times. we enjoyed them in from of the tv with lots of blankets, tea and the new episode of Modern Family, so cosy! ♥

Directions:
Start by preheating your oven to 180 c / 360 f. Then open the Danerolles petit pains and cut each piece of dough into 6 smaller pieces. Add the finely grated apple, chopped dates, coconut sugar and cinnamon to a bowl and stir everything well together. Line a bread pan with parchment paper, dip the pieces of dough into the cinnamon mixture and start filling the pan with the dough, make sure to press it down, so it really sticks together. Sprinkle the top of the bread with a little bit of coconut sugar and bake it in the oven for about 40 minutes. Serve the cinnamon bread with butter and lots of tea.
