My go-to oatmeal // Delicious, filling and warming

My go-to easy oatmeal // Delicious, filling and warming

I can’t believe that it is officially spring, it has pretty much been snowing non-stop for a week and the temperature is absolutely freezing! Not that great when you live in an old house that kinda needs some insolation upgrading and 2 out of 4 heaters that aren’t working properly – hah worst combo!

To make things even “better” I am sick again, so I haven been spending this week under lots of blankets with my favorite tea and a(nother) New Girl marathon. It has actually been quite cosy though, I mean I cannot wait for spring and warmer weather, but when you are sick and stuck in bed anyway, then it is so pretty to look out at the snow falling while you are warm inside under the covers ♥

While I usually try to start my day with a big smoothie, then all I have been craving lately are a big bowl of oatmeal to keep me warm in this freezing weather. I usually keep it quite simple since I am always absolutely starving in the morning and honestly do not have much patience for anything too extravagant, so I thought I would share my simple go-to recipe with you guys. It takes absolutely no time to put together and it is just SO delicious, filling and warming ♥

– Yields 1 serving
1 deciliter (about 0.4 cup) plantmilk
2 deciliter (about 0.8 cup) water
2 deciliter (about 0.8 cup) rolled oats
1 scoop collagen, I link to the one I use here
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup

Toppings:
1 tablespoon nutbutter, my favorites are almond and hazelnut
1/2 banana, sliced
1 handful blueberries, fresh or frozen
1 teaspoon beepollen
A sprinkle of freeze-dried raspberry – optional

Directions:
Simply add the plantmilk, water and rolled oats to a small pot and bring it to a simmer on medium heat. Make sure to stir frequently. Add the vanilla, cinnamon, collagen and honey, stir well. Let it simmer until the oats have reached your desired texture. Pour the oatmeal into a bowl, add the toppings and serve it right away, enjoy ♥
