Neapolitan ice cream smoothie raw vegan

This three layered beauty is my take on a healthified and nourishing version of the neapolitan ice-cream. It might be a healthy version, but I promise you that it is still incredibly delicious and is such a great alternative to your regular ice-cream if you want to keep it healthy – haha sometimes you just need the real deal though ;) If you use frozen bananas and strawberries + only add very little milk then you get a thicker nice cream version that you can eat with a spoon and that is even closer to the original neapolitian ice cream.

Oh and since this is meant to be a bit more of dessert’ish smoothie I have added a little liquid stevia and pure maple sirup to each layer for extra sweetness. I know some of you prefer to leave out any sweeteners, but since this is meant to be an alternative to regular ice-cream or dessert then I personally feel like it calls for some sweetener ;) The goal is to make it taste like a healthier, but still super sweet and tasty smoothie (or nice cream) version of the neapolitan ice-cream :)

Ingredients:

Vanilla layer:
1 frozen banana (ripe with brown spots)
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla powder
A little sweetener of choice, I used a little pure maple sirup
A splash of rice milk

Strawberry layer:
1 banana (ripe with brown spots)
A handfull frozen strawberries
A little sweetener of choice, I used a little pure maple sirup
A little rice milk

Chocolate layer:
1 frozen banana (ripe with brown spots)
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
1/4 pure vanilla powder
A little sweetener of choice, I used a little liquid stevia & pure maple sirup
Ricemilk to blend

Directions:

  1. The first thing to keep in mind when making layered smoothies is that the bottom layer always have to be the thickest and then you gradually make the upper layers thinner (in texture) or else the layers will just mix together instead of staying separated.
  2. Simply blend everything together for each layer and pour into a large glass or jar, keep the above tip in mind and make sure not to add too much milk to the first two layers.
  3. Serve right away, enjoy!
